Zebra Finch Agilent Oligoarray
Oligoarray Overview
The Zebra Finch Agilent Oligoarray is composed of 43,488 60-mer oligos representing transcripts identified from three major research groups (Wada et al 2006; Li et al 2007: Replogie et al 2008). The array has performed reliably within and across bird species, and is available for use either from Duke University Microarray Center or directly from Agilent (AMADID 021323).
For more information about the measured quality of the array in several scenarios, please see Zebrafinch Oligoarray QC.

Songbird Oligoarray v2 Composition: 43,125 features and nine probe groups:
- 1. Database clones with Agilent probe scores of 1 and 2 –
- This probe group contains 42151 probes that are each on the array once.
- 2. Database clones with Agilent probe scores of 3 –
- This probe group contains 614 probes that are each on the array once.
- 3. Zenk sequences –
- This probe group contains 35 probes that are each on the array 5 times.
- 4. Random clones –
- This probe group contains 41 probes randomly picked from probe group.
- These probes are placed on the array eight extra times.
- This probe group can used to calculate the coefficient of variance for the array.
- 5. Extra genes from birds besides zebra finch –
- This probe group contains 82 probes that are each on the array once.
- 6. Dopamine receptor sequences –
- This probe group contains 12 probes that target various dopamine receptors and their splice variants.
- 7. Extra genes from zebra finch -
- This probe group contains 59 probes from genes of interest not in the three major resource groups bu in NCBI.
- 8. Chicken FoxP2 targets –
- This probe group contains 121 probes designed from genes speculated to be targets of FoxP2.
- 9. Zebra Finch FoxP2 targets and gfp –
- This probe group contains 10 probes designed from zebra finch genes thought to be targets of FoxP2.
- This probe group also contains a probe specific for gfp.
